Mary MacKillop Chapel and Heritage Centre

Temuka holds great significance in NZ Josephite history as it was the first place that Mary MacKillop sent her Sisters to begin Josephite ministry in Aotearoa. She stayed with the Sisters there on her visits to New Zealand. The people of Temuka, therefore, have a special relationship with Mary MacKillop.  This centre is helping to keep her spirit alive.

Heritage Room: A place of pilgrimage which gives pilgrims/visitors an opportunity for to learn about the history of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart in New Zealand through the use of story boards and artefacts. The room is suitable for groups of up to twenty people at a time.
